Chips for Categorisation

Updating and changing UX patterns on content-driven websites and content-sharing platforms can be challenging due to it’s complexity.

The brief was to research solutions and functionalities to help categorise classes.  Managing, applying, and removing categories as well as the different views for the different types of users.

This exploration started by researching different platforms, design patterns, and systems and also reading several articles on user testing and patterns.

All the possible suitable findings and possibilities were then compiled, presented, and discussed; advantages, disadvantages, and foreseeable  pain points for each persona/user.

In the end, the chips were the chosen solution and I then produced the wireframes keeping in mind all the requirements for this project.

The categories had to be easily managed, changed and deleted.

No category should be duplicated, how to avoid duplicated categories was a very important request it was also important to make is as seamless as possible for the user to avoid frustration and pipeline delays.

All relevant functionalities had to be easily accessible and easy to navigate through.
